RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that City Council adopt a resolution ratifying an appointment to the Stockton Planning Commission to fill a vacated term representing Council District 1. The partial term will begin upon appointment and end January 31, 2027.

Summary
Due to the resignation of the District 1 representative on the Planning Commission, there is one vacancy to be filled by Council ratification this evening.
DISCUSSION
Background
Charter Article XXIV requires that each Councilmember nominate a candidate from the district he/she represents to sit on the Planning Commission and the City Council ratifies the appointments. The term of office is four-years and may be reappointed for a second term but may not serve more than two consecutive terms.
Present Situation
Councilmember Padilla has received applications to fill the partial term on the Planning Commission. Below is the recommendation presented to Council for ratification this evening.
Planning Commission partial term will begin immediately and end January 31, 2027:

FINANCIAL SUMMARY
There is no financial impact to the General Fund from the appointment of Planning Commissioners. Planning Commissioners receive a $25 per meeting stipend and sufficient funding is available in account 048-1810-510 (Community Development).
