Background

The changes to this class specification are a result of a request by the Fire Department. The classification specification for Fire Fighter Trainee was last updated on April 5, 2007.

Present Situation

Changes to the Fire Fighter Trainee specification include updating the class characteristics, minimum qualifications, and adding the abilities and physical/mental requirements. The approved classification specification was signed by the Director of Human Resources on September 22, 2021 and is included in this report.

The draft class specification was provided to the Stockton Firefighters’ Local 456 for review and concurrence on September 22, 2021. Human Resources received confirmation that the union had no objections regarding the proposed changes.

AUTHORITY
