Update from the Community Services Department on Strong Communities activities.
Program Updates since June 2018:
• Increased open hours at all City Libraries beginning July 2, 2018
• Increased open hours at all City Recreation Centers beginning July 2, 2018
• Implemented new evening programs and programs aligned with annual diversity celebrations (African American History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, LGBTQ+ Pride, etc.)
• Council approved contract with Arch Nexus for design of Northeast Library/Recreation Center
• Increased open hours at all After School Express programs beginning August 1, 2018 (now open until 6pm)
• Registration for Stockton’s Recreation programs are now available online via Rec Trac
• Community Services programs are now online through the digital Activities Guide
• Addition of third season of adult softball
• Introduction of adult kickball league
• Addition of Mini Movers, which is a sport development program for 3-5 year-old children
• Addition of pickleball to the adult sports drop-in program
• Continuation of Ultra Friday Nights (last Friday of each month)
