REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF ONE-YEAR-OLD ELIGIBILITY LIST FOR ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN I (OPEN/PROMOTIONAL)

Approve by motion to extend the Miscellaneous Employee Eligibility List for Electrical Technician I (Open/Promotional).

DISCUSSION
The Electrical Technician I (Open/Promotional) eligibility list was established on June 16, 2017, with eighteen (18) names on the list. There are fifteen (15) eligible names remaining on the list. At this time, we are asking for a one-year extension.
It is the practice of the Civil Service Commission to extend eligibility lists, unless the Personnel Officer recommends that such lists be abolished for reasons consistent with the principles of merit and good personnel administration.
Having received no objections to the extension, the Electrical Technician I (Open/Promotional), with fifteen (15) eligible names remaining on the list, will be extended for one-year, to be effective from June 16, 2018, to June 16, 2019.
AUTHORITY
In accordance with Rule VI, Section 12 (b) of the Civil Service Rules and Regulations for Miscellaneous Employees - the period of eligibility for appointment from eligible lists shall be at the discretion of the Civil Service Commission but shall not exceed three (3) years.
