Accept by motion the 2018 Annual Equal Employment Report for the Human Resources Department.

DISCUSSION

 

The responsibilities of the Human Resources Department are broad and include all aspects of human resources and risk management.  Employees assigned to the Human Resources Department provide services to management, employees, and citizens through Workforce Planning, Employee/Labor Relations, Employee Benefits, and Risk Management Services.  An organization chart for the Human Resources Department is attached to the Annual Equal Employment Report as Attachment A.

 

The attached Annual Equal Employment Report provides employment information for the Human Resources Department regarding workforce composition, personnel changes, professional and diversity training, and recruitment efforts for the past year.  This information includes, but isn’t limited to, current staffing levels, departmental ethnicity and gender demographics, and organizational recruitment outreach efforts.

 

AUTHORITY

 

Concurrent Civil Service/Equal Employment Commission Resolution No. CS 11-067 adopted on December 15, 2011, outlines the format that Annual Equal Employment reports must be completed effective January 1, 2012.  This format was amended by Resolution No. CS 2017-12-21-1302 on December 21, 2017 and approved by all Commissioners present.  In compliance with this resolution, all City departments shall submit their annual reports, as assigned, utilizing the updated adopted format.
