REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF ONE-YEAR-OLD ELIGIBILITY LIST
RECOMMENDATION
Approve by motion the one-year extension of the Miscellaneous Employee Eligibility List for Plant Maintenance Machinist (Open/Promotional).

DISCUSSION
The Plant Maintenance Machinist (Open/Promotional) eligibility list was established on April 22, 2016 with eight (8) names on the list; seven (7) eligible names remain. It is the practice of the Civil Service Commission to extend eligibility lists, unless the Personnel Officer recommends that such lists be abolished for reasons consistent with the principles of merit and good personnel administration. Since there are no reasons to abolish this eligibility list, staff is requesting to extend the list for one year.
If there are no objections to the extension, the Plant Maintenance Machinist (Open/Promotional), with seven (7) eligible names remaining on the list, will be extended for one-year, to be effective from April 22, 2017 to April 22, 2018.
AUTHORITY
In accordance with Rule VI, Section 12 (b) of the Civil Service Rules and Regulations for Miscellaneous Employees - the period of eligibility for appointment from eligible lists shall be at the discretion of the Civil Service Commission, but shall not exceed three (3) years.
