DISCUSSION

Background

On September 13, 2011, City Council adopted Resolution 11-0255 (Attachment B) disestablishing the Stockton Sports Commission; and adopted Ordinance 010-11 (Attachment C) repealing Chapter 2.98 of the Stockton Municipal Code related to the Stockton Sports Commission in its entirety.

Present Situation

Staff came across Municipal Code Chapter 2.64 Employment of Stockton/San Joaquin Sports Commission Employees when doing routine research to keep code sections up to date. After confirming with relevant City staff, it was determined that this chapter could be removed from the Municipal code as it was no longer relevant.

With Council adoption of this ordinance, this chapter is simply being removed from the Municipal Code, to carry out the prior intent of Council action in 2011 regarding the disestablishment of the Stockton Sports Commission.
