According to the Measure A Advisory Committee By-Laws 9) Authorized Activities c), the committee will “observe Public Safety Marshall Plan activities for which tax proceeds have been or will be expended”.
The Marshall Plan on Crime (Marshall Plan) is a comprehensive, multi-jurisdictional approach to addressing endemic violence in Stockton and San Joaquin County. Under the plan, specific tasks and policy changes are developed that help community and governmental leaders address rampant violence with steps taken towards reducing and ultimately controlling and/or eliminating key elements that prevent a safe and secure community. The Marshall Plan is a multi-year effort funded through Measure A Transaction and Use Tax.
Staff will provide a verbal update related to the Marshall Plan staffing levels as well as other notable Measure A accomplishments and expenditures.
A separate staff report outlining quarterly revenues and expenditures related to the use of Measure A Transaction and Use Tax is included later in this agenda packet
