DISCUSSION

Background

The Community Development Committee is a committee that provides the Council with recommendations on the planning and use of funds that the City receives from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, including Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnerships Program, and Emergency Solutions Grant funds. As provided for in the Council-adopted Citizen’s Participation Plan, appointments to the Community Development Committee are made by each of the six Councilmembers and the Mayor. The only requirement to serve on the Committee is that the applicant must be a resident of the City of Stockton

Present Situation

It is recommended that the City Council ratify that Community Development Committee position held by Kevin Redick, District 2 which has been vacated due to violation of the attendance policy as prescribed in Council Policy 3.03.010 (Attachment A)

Due to the resignations of members from District 3, District 6, and At Large there are vacancies for the District 3, District 6, and At Large Appointments.

Councilmember Blower reviewed active applications on file received by the Clerk’s office and is nominating Matthew Wood for appointment for a term effective immediately and will end January 31, 2027.

Vice Mayor Lee reviewed active applications on file received by the Clerk’s Office and is nominating Anitra Williams for appointment for a term effective immediately and will end January 31, 2029.

Mayor Fugazi reviewed active applications on file received by the Clerks office and is nominating Christopher Bright-Cannon for appointment for a term effective immediately and will end January 31, 2029.
