Review a summary update of community engagement activities conducted for the Stockton Comprehensive Climate Action & Adaptation Plan (CCAAP) from September 2025 through May 2026.

Summary
Staff and the City’s community engagement partner Little Manila Rising (LMR) have undertaken extensive engagement efforts, including collaboration with partnering organizations, community events attended, workshops held, neighborhood canvassing, emails, phone calls, survey’s, social media posts and public comments at City Council and commission meetings to support the development of the Stockton region CCAAP.
DISCUSSION
Background
Throughout the development of the CCAAP vast community and stakeholder engagement efforts were conducted to develop a strategic plan centered on the needs and impacts on those who reside in the area.
Present Situation
Since the previous summary of engagement activities provided in February 2026, community engagement partner LMR, city staff and technical consultant AECOM have continued efforts to engage the community and stakeholders through:
• Attendance to community events
• Canvassing activities
• Phone calls with key organizations
• Email blasts
• Social media post and stories
• ASK Stockton posts
Since the previous update outreach, key engagement activities have included:
• Public Workshop at Troke Library
× Van Buren Elementary School Tabling
× Edible Schoolyard Project Spring Fling
× Public Workshop at Civic Auditorium
× Virtual Public Workshop
× San Joaquin Delta College Tabling
× Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce Meeting/Green Team San Joaquin
× Community Meetings: Mormon Slough Restoration Association, Downtown Comeback Club, Stockton Host Lions • Stockton Earth Day• Virtual Public Workshop
• Delta College Public Workshop
These expanded the engagement reach to beyond 8,000 people across the communities of Stockton, Lodi, Manteca, Tracy, Lathrop and the unincorporated County, with some outreach efforts unable to quantify when collaborating with other community groups.
Outreach next steps will further be defined as strategic implementation develops.
