Summary
Aquatics
Learn to Swim Program
This summer, 420 participants have received free swim lessons through our Learn to Swim initiative, funded by the Brian M. Stocker Fund in partnership with the San Joaquin Community Foundation. The program focused on water safety and foundational swim skills for youth.
New Partnership with Lodi Unified School District - McNair Pool Access
We launched a new partnership with Lodi Unified School District to open the McNair School Pool for free public recreational swim in July. The pool operated Tuesdays from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00-6:00 p.m., providing residents with additional opportunities to stay active and cool during the summer. We are exploring opportunities to continue and expand this partnership in future summers.
Rec Swim
Over 6,000 participants have stayed active and cool so far this swim season by visiting our six pool locations. These facilities provided safe, accessible spaces for recreation, swimming lessons, fitness, and family fun, serving thousands of community members throughout the season.
Project Toolbox
To support positive youth engagement, the Project Toolbox program offered weekly and monthly teen outings throughout the summer, giving participants opportunities to explore new experiences, build positive relationships, and engage in healthy recreational activities.
This summer, participants enjoyed trips to:

• Gaia Guides
• Oak Park Ice Rink
• Stockton Ports game
• A hosted Awake-A-Thon
Upcoming outing includes:
• Quarry Park Adventures: Saturday, August 15
• Oracle Park Leadership Panel Discussion and San Francisco Giants Game: Sunday, August 30
These experiences continue to provide teens with safe, enriching opportunities that encourage personal growth, community connection, and positive use of leisure time.
National Night Out
Staff are working on the final logistics for our National Night Out events and activities slated for Tuesday, August 4. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. We will be celebrating this annual event at seven locations: Louis Park Softball Complex, Oak Park Senior Center, Rue Community Center, Seifert Community Center, Stribley Community Center, Van Buskirk Community Center, and the new Ursula Meyer Library & Community Center. Each site will feature informational booths, arts and crafts, games, entertainment, and refreshments. These events aim to strengthen community bonds and foster safer neighborhoods. All event times are 5:00 - 8:00 PM.

The Parks and Recreation Division budgets and the Fall Activity Guide presentations are scheduled for delivery at the August 24 Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting.
