RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Arts Commission:
1. Review the 2026 Stockton Arts Grant application and approve recommended changes for the 2027 Stockton Arts Grant application;
2. Authorize staff to make the necessary changes and release the 2027 Stockton Arts Grant application to the public; and
3. Elect two Commissioners to serve on an ad hoc rating committee to score submitted applications and provide a recommendation to the full Commission as appropriate.

The Stockton Arts Grant Program provides funding to support arts and cultural projects in the City of Stockton. Before the 2027 application is released, staff is asking the full Commission to review the 2026 application and guidelines (Attachment A) and recommend any changes for the upcoming cycle. Recommendations may include program priorities, funding categories and award amounts, eligibility, evaluation criteria, and the application timeline.
Once the Commission approves its recommendations, staff will update the application and guidelines and release the 2027 Stockton Arts Grant application to the public.
The Commission will also elect two Commissioners to form an ad hoc rating committee. After the application period closes, the ad hoc committee will review and score the applications received using the approved evaluation criteria and bring a recommendation to the full Commission as appropriate.
