DISCUSSION
Background
On June 1, 2026, City staff submitted the ‘final’ Comprehensive Climate Action and Adaptation Plan that satisfied all the EPA Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) requirements to the grant program as required. Although implementation roadmaps were not a requirement for the CPRG program, City staff and the technical consultant are including this added information to assist the City with successful implementation planning in consideration of all needs, coordination, requirements, authority and feasibility.
Present Situation
Currently, City staff, the community engagement partner, and the technical consultant are working to prepare the final plan for City Council adoption. This includes working with the Mayor’s office and engaging in strategic community engagement to finalize a timeline of next steps through 2028.
