Staff recommends that the Planning Commission approve, by motion, the regular meeting schedule for the 2026 Calendar Year.

Summary
This agenda item serves to confirm the regular Planning Commission meeting dates for the Calendar Year 2026. Meetings would occur two times per month, on the second and fourth Thursdays, except for November 26th, and December 24th due to legal holidays.
DISCUSSION
Background
Stockton Municipal Code (SMC) 16.212.040(B) provides that the Planning Commission set the date and time for meetings according to its ‘Procedural Rules for Conducting Planning Commission Meetings’ (Attachment A - Procedural Rules). Section 2 of the Procedural Rules states,
“Regular meetings of the Commission shall be held on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month unless the Commission, by majority vote, decides otherwise. If a regular Commission meeting falls on a legal holiday, that meeting shall be held on the preceding Monday in the Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, Stockton, California, and shall begin at 5:30 p.m.”
Present Situation
After reviewing the Procedural Rules and 2026 calendar year (Attachment B - 2026 Planning Commission Calendar), staff recommends that the Planning Commission adopt a regular meeting calendar reflecting the following dates:
• January 8 and 22
• February 12 and 26
• March 12 and 26
• April 9 and 23
• May 14 and 28
• June 11 and 25
• July 9 and 23
• August 13 and 27
• September 10 and 24
• October 8 and 22
• November 12
• December 10
VOTES REQUIRED
Approval of a motion for this item requires a majority vote.
