City staff will invite nominations and conduct a vote for Chair of the Climate Action Plan Advisory Committee.

As required by the City of Stockton Board and Commission member handbook, each board will select a member to serve as Chair and Vice Chair.
DISCUSSION
Background
On August 1, 2025, the Climate Action Plan Advisory Committee (CAPAC) nominated and voted to elect Julie Dunning as the Chair of the advisory committee and Mary Elizabeth as Vice Chair.
Present Situation
On January 27, 2025, the City Clerk’s office received a formal letter of resignation from the Chair of the CAPAC, Julie Dunning as a public comment document filed on the City Council Meeting agenda. Since the committee must have an elected Chair according to the City of Stockton Board and Commission member handbook, the CAPAC must re-elect this position.
To facilitate nominations and selection of the CAPAC Chair, each committee member nominated and interested in being the Chair of the CAPAC will be allowed 2 minutes to discuss their desired reason to be Chair of the CAPAC. Following these statements, staff will conduct a vote for the CAPAC Chair.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY
This action will have no direct financial impact on the City Departments.
