DISCUSSION ON AMENDING STOCKTON MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 9.64.020 DRINKING LIQUOR IN PUBLIC

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Legislation and Environmental Committee:
1. Consider amendments to Stockton Municipal Code (SMC) Section 9.64.020, Drinking Liquor in Public; and
2. Provide staff with direction regarding the proposed changes and consider forwarding the proposed changes to the full City Council for adoption.

The Stockton Police Department is requesting that the language in SMC Section 9.64.020 (Attachment A) be amended from “drinking” to “open-container.”
