RECOMMENDATION

 

It is recommended that the Salary Setting Commission schedule a public hearing to review and discuss the salary data presented and to consider adoption of a recommendation establishing City Council members’ salaries for a two-year period commencing January 1, 2027, in accordance with Article IV, Section 410 of the City Charter.

BACKGROUND

On February 11, 2026, salary data was presented to the Salary Setting Commission for review. Following the presentation, Commissioners requested that additional information be provided prior to scheduling a public hearing to consider salary recommendations.

 

DISCUSSION

The Commission must determine whether the information provided is sufficient to proceed with a public hearing. Upon confirmation that the data and supporting materials are adequate, the Commission may formally schedule the hearing to receive public input and deliberate on salary recommendations for City Council members.

 

SUMMARY

 

The Human Resources Department will coordinate the scheduling of the public hearing and ensure that all required public notices are published in accordance with applicable regulations.
