RECOMMENDATION
Review and approve the recommendation of Amelia Lewis and Leonel Martinez for the vacant Stockton Arts Commissioner positions. With Commission approval, this recommendation will be forwarded to the City Council. The selected term will begin on March 1, 2026, and end on February 28, 2028.

The application period for the Stockton Arts Commissioner positions opened on November 7, 2025, and closed on December 5, 2025. A total of five qualified applications were received. Of those, two applicants participated in interviews.
On January 5, 2026, City staff and Commissioners Abercrombie and Albahar conducted interviews with the candidates.
Pending Commission approval, staff will recommend to the City Council that Amelia Lewis and Leonel Martinez be formally appointed for the term beginning March 1, 2026, and ending on February 28, 2028.
