Summary

Fall Harvest Festivals

Our annual Fall Harvest Festivals were held the week of October 21st at our community centers.  Staff recorded over 1,000 attendees at the four locations for this year.  At each site, the community participated in fall-themed crafts, activities, refreshments, and entertainment.  We want to thank the community groups who participated in this year’s events. A few to mention are KIPP: Public Schools, El Concilio, Cal OES, Eastside Advisory, Stand, Conway Homes, WelBe Health, and Voice of Hope.

Youth Sports Winter Clinics

New this winter are our Youth Sports section’s sports clinics which are offered to provide kids ages 5-14 with the opportunity to get active and try out multiple different sports during designated weeks in December.  Each day will offer a new sport, including learning the basics through drills, games, and friendly competition. This December, staff will be focused on soccer, basketball, cricket, and pickleball.  The new program will be offered at each community center, costing $9.00 per day.

Cookies with Santa will be held on December 23rd, 2024, at the Oak Park Senior Center, from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.  Santa's workshop opens at Oak Park Senior Center, equipped with holiday crafting stations, cookie decorating, hot cocoa, and a chance to take pictures with Santa. The center’s Senior Band, Kitchen Jam, will play holiday tunes and pick a few attendees for some holiday karaoke. We encourage our senior members to bring their grandkids and family over to participate in spreading holiday joy. Cookies with Santa is a free event.
