RECOMMENDATION

 

It is recommended that the City Council, by resolution, designate one member to serve as voting delegate representing the City at the League of California Cities Annual Conference, to be held September 23-25,2026, in Anaheim, California.

Summary

 

The League of California Cities bylaws require each voting member city to designate one voting member. The voting member and any alternate(s) must be designated by City Council action. Stockton City Council Policy 2.05 states that the Mayor shall designate the Voting Delegate and Alternate. 

 

DISCUSSION

 

Present Situation

 

The League of California Cities Annual Conference is scheduled for September 23-25, 2026, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. The General Assembly will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026. 

 

An important aspect of the League’s Conference is the General Assembly at which time the membership considers and takes action on resolutions that establish League policy. The agenda outlining these resolutions is still being finalized. A completed packet with proposed resolutions will be presented to member cities prior to the conference.

 

The Mayor has appointed Councilmember Michael Blower, District 3 as the Voting Delegate.
