Staff to provide updates on the 2024 and 2025 Public Art Mural Program and future dates and deadlines pertinent to the commission

Summary
2024 Public Art Mural Program
All applicants for the Public Art Mural Program have been notified of the Arts Commission’s recommendation. Charly Malpass completed her mural “Winged Wanderers” at the Market Street Parking Garage. The ribbon cutting/unveiling ceremony was held on August 1, 2024, at 9:00 am. The mural at the Oak Park Senior Center has been completed and ribbon-cutting ceremony planning is ongoing. The Coy Parking Garage has begun and is scheduled to be completed before January 2025 weather permitting.
2025 Public Art Mural Program
On November 4, 2024, the application window for the 2025 Public Art Mural program opened. Applications are due by January 3, 2025.
City Process Dates and Deadlines Pertinent to the Commission
At the Stockton Arts Commission meeting on November 4, 2024, Chair Cao requested information on City timelines pertinent to the Stockton Arts Commission. The dates and deadlines listed are estimated for the upcoming year and are subject to change.
