RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Committee consider proposed amendments to Stockton Municipal Code (SMC) Section 5.32.080, related to the number of gambling tables allowed in a licensed card room, and consider forwarding a recommendation to the City Council for approval.

Summary
At the August 28, 2024, Legislative Committee meeting, the Committee received information regarding recent updates to the California Business and Professions Code section 19961.07 related to the number of gambling tables allowed inside a licensed card room (Attachment A).
In order to bring SMC in alignment with State Law, the Administrative Services Department, with the support of Stockton Police Department and Community Development, propose revisions to SMC Section 5.32.080 as reflected in Attachment B (redline) and Attachment C (clean).
