DISCUSSION

Background

The Delta Water Supply Intake Pump Station, located on the south bank of Empire Tract, withdraws water from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The water is treated at the DWTP and distributed to customers throughout north Stockton. The DWTP grounds include a Water Conservation Garden with drought tolerant landscaping that is maintained to educate the public on the appropriate selection of water-saving plant varieties which also provides an attractive appearance that complements the facility and surrounding area.

The site requires services to maintain various landscape elements that contributed to the facility earning a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Standard.

The City advertised a Request for Sealed Bids for Delta Water Treatment Plant Landscape Services, Project No. PUR 24-027, on February 22, 2024. Bids were solicited to establish prices and rates for potential on-call services.

On March 6, 2024, seven (7) firms attended a mandatory job walk. On March 28, 2024, the City Clerk received and opened the following four (4) submitted bids:

K&K JL Services, LLC

Marina Landscape, LLC

$398,400.00

New Image Landscape Co.

$178,670.00

Valley Landscaping & Maintenance, Inc.

$173,700.00
