Summary

The League of California Cities bylaws require each voting member city to designate one voting member and at least one alternate. The voting member and alternate(s) must be designated by City Council action. Stockton City Council Policy 2.05 states that the Mayor shall designate the Voting Delegate and Alternate.

DISCUSSION

Present Situation

The League of California Cities Annual Conference is scheduled for October 16-18, 2024, at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California. The Annual Business Meeting will be held during General Assembly on Friday, October 18, 2024.

An important aspect of the League’s Conference is the Annual Business Meeting at which time the membership considers and takes action on resolutions that establish League policy. The agenda outlining these resolutions is still being finalized. A completed packet with proposed resolutions will be presented to member cities prior to the conference.

The Mayor has re-appointed Councilmember Dan Wright, District 2 as the Voting Delegate, with Vice Mayor Kimberly Warmsley, District 6 as the Alternate.
