Schedule a public hearing to adopt recommendations relating to salaries and benefits for the Mayor and City Council after the Salary Setting Commission reviews and discusses the contents of this report and formulates a recommendation.

Background
This is the first meeting of 2024. Information has been provided to Commission members for consideration of a public hearing to discuss and approve salary and benefits for the Mayor and Council members. The recommended action relating to the Mayor is for their term commencing on January 1, 2025. The recommended action relating to the City Council is for a two-year period commencing on January 1, 2025. City staff will prepare the appropriate Staff Report and documents consistent with this recommendation.
Discussion
The Commission has been provided with salary surveys for full-time and part-time positions for the Mayor and the City Council (see Attachments A and B, respectively).
Summary
The Salary Setting Commission shall review and discuss the contents of this report and decide if the information provides enough data to make a recommendation to set a Public Hearing. The Commission may propose a recommendation for the salaries of the Councilmembers and Mayor during this meeting and direct staff to prepare a Staff Report of that recommendation for the Commission’s concurrence in the public hearing.
