Summary

Holiday Workshops

Our annual Holiday Workshops were held the week of December 18, 2023, at Van Buskirk, Stribley, Seifert, and Arnold Rue Community Centers. These free family-friendly events offered winter-time activities, games, and entertainment.  Total attendance for all four events was over 1,000 people.

Winter Camps

Winter Camps were conducted for the two-week school break from December 25, 2024, through January 5, 2024, at Arnold Rue, Seifert, and Stribley Community Centers.  Our seasonal camps operate weekly from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM daily.  Participants were led through winter-themes activities, crafts, and games.  The locations hosted 33 participants in the first week and 43 in the second week.

Activity Guide

The Winter/Spring Edition of the Community Services Activity Guide has been published and is available on the City of Stockton’s website.  Contents of the guide highlight programs and events for Recreation and Library services from January through April 2024.

Van Buskirk Community Center Gym Ribbon-cutting Event

A ribbon-cutting event to commemorate the reopening of the Van Buskirk Gymnasium will be on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 5:00 PM.  The gymnasium was closed in 2021 to address water intrusion that caused extensive floor damage.  The water intrusion was due to exterior drainage issues around the community center.  This event is to celebrate the reopening of the gymnasium to the community. There will be guest speakers, activities, and light refreshments.
